1. Definition:


Fiber laser cutting machine is a laser cutting machine that uses a fiber laser generator as a light source. It is a new type of fiber laser newly developed in the world, which outputs a high-energy-density laser beam and gathers it on the surface of the workpiece to instantly melt and gasify the area irradiated by the ultra-fine focus spot on the workpiece position to achieve automatic cutting with fast speed, high precision and less maintenance.



2. Classification:


1) According to power:

a. high power fiber laser cutting machines;

b. medium power fiber laser cutting machines;

c. low power fiber laser cutting machines.

2) According to the materials’ shape:

a. plate fiber laser cutting machine;

b. pipe fiber laser cutting machine;

c. plate and tube integrated fiber laser cutting machine.



3. Advantages: long life; safe and stable; high efficiency.


1) Beam quality: small focus spot, fine cutting lines, fast work efficiency and good processing quality;

2) Cutting speed: twice that of the same power CO2 laser cutting machine;

3) Stability: fiber laser is used, with stable performance, and the service life of key components can reach 100,000 hours;

4) Electro-optic conversion efficiency: The photoelectric conversion efficiency of the fiber laser cutting machine is about 30%, which is 3 times higher than that of the CO2 laser cutting machine, which is energy-saving and environmentally friendly;

5) Cost of use: the power consumption of the whole machine is only 20-30% of that of similar CO2 laser cutting machines;

6) Maintenance cost: no laser working gas; optical fiber transmission, no need for reflective lenses; can save a lot of maintenance costs;

7) The product is easy to operate and maintain: optical fiber transmission, no need to adjust the optical path;

8) Flexible light guide effect: small size, compact structure, easy to meet flexible processing requirements.

9) High cutting precision: the positioning accuracy of the laser cutting machine is 0.05mm, and the repeat positioning accuracy is 0.03 mm.

10) The cutting surface of the laser cutting machine is smooth: the cutting surface has no burrs, and the surface roughness of the incision is generally controlled within Ra6.5.

11) The cutting quality of the laser cutting machine is good: non-contact cutting, the cutting edge is less affected by heat, basically there is no thermal deformation of the workpiece, completely avoiding the edge collapse formed when the material is punched and sheared, and the cutting seam generally does not require secondary processing.

12) No damage to the workpiece: the laser cutting head will not touch the surface of the material, so as not to scratch the workpiece.

13) Not affected by the shape of the workpiece: laser processing has good flexibility, can process arbitrary graphics, and can cut pipes and other special-shaped materials.

14) Save mold investment: Laser processing does not require molds, no mold consumption, no need to repair molds, saves time for mold replacement, thereby saving processing costs and reducing production costs, especially suitable for processing large-scale products.

15) Material saving: Using computer programming, products of different shapes can be cut to maximize the utilization of materials.

16) Improve the speed of sample delivery: After the product drawing is formed, laser processing can be carried out immediately, and the new product can be obtained in the shortest time.

17) Safety and environmental protection: Laser processing has less waste, low noise, clean, safe, and pollution-free, which greatly improves the working environment.
