Three characteristics of Handheld laser welding machine VS Traditional TIG/MIG welding:
Firstly --- safety: handheld laser welding is safer than traditional TIG/MIG welding.
Traditional TIG/MIG welding is performed by melting the metal through an arc, resulting in temperatures as high as 3000 to 6000 degrees during
the welding process, and is accompanied by high temperature slag or spark splashes, which can easily cause fires or even bursts if they come
into contact with flammable materials such as flock, cotton fabrics, wood, chemicals etc.
Compared to traditional TIG/MIG welding, handheld laser welding is a more advanced and intelligent technology, common laser welding
equipment contains workbenches, fixtures, safety protection areas or baffles separated, that is, after the workpiece to be welded is fixed on the
workbench, personnel leave, start the equipment automation to complete the welding, and then shut down and take out the sample, the whole
process is relatively safe for personnel.
As for the welding slag or the potential flame of Mars splash, there is no need to worry about using handheld laser welding. Handheld Laser
welding often uses protective gas or blowing gas to quickly blow away the welding slag and cool it down, while the sparks during welding are
partly reflected light from the laser, which all disappear quickly and do not easily ignite the objects.
Secondly --- Easy to use easily, hand-held laser welding instead is easier to operate than traditional TIG/MIG welding.
The biggest advantage of handheld laser welding is that it gets rid of the constraints of the previous laser equipment workbench and can
achieve the same flexibility as arc welding, where the welding equipment can be moved to achieve the possibility of on-site processing
anywhere.
Handheld laser welding is easy to operate, very fast, more than 5 times faster than traditional TIG/MIG welding, very low maintenance costs
and no welding consumables are required. After laser welding of the workpiece, the weld seam is flat and smooth.
Generally, it does not need to be polished again.
To make things easier in practice, many of the handheld welders are now integrated, with smaller laser sources, chillers and cabinet, and the
whole machine is already very compact.
Thirdly --- Operability, handheld laser welding does not require a professional welding operator certificate
Welding is a process that is achieved by high temperatures and traditional welding machines require the welder operator to hold a
welder's certificate or relevant qualification to operate the welding.
Handheld laser welding is easy to learn and there are no clear qualifications for operation, only the need to learn and practice on
the spot to be able to operate the machine.
